My New Year

13 January 2016

Hello everyone, HAPPY NEW YEEEEAAR!
I can't believe it's 2016 and I'm starting my first post of the year already. I've had such a great year on my blog and I'm very excited for what 2016 holds for me.. my blogging game is going to be on fleek! First things first, I hope you all had a fantastic New Year's and haven't been blown away from this years awful weather (if you live in the UK that is, if you live somewhere tropical and hot I really envy you, you lucky lucky thing!)

As it's the start of the year I thought the only way to start my 2016 blogging year was with the good old New Year's plans, hopes and dreams for the upcoming year ahead. Something I know we all say and do and a lot of the time set ourselves up for failure.. I know the story all too well. However, this year I've taken a different approach to the 'resolutions' and instead of making a list of things I need to change I've decided to write a few things down that will inspire me and not make me feel bogged down with failure - I'm going to share with you the things I would like to do more off this year.

Documenting - The first thing on my list is documenting. I'd like to start keeping a diary, noting down my idea's, dreams and inspiration and building a memory book. This is something I've always been passionate about, having kept a day to day diary since the age of 8. I love to make lists, and am always jotting down different lists to organise myself - so keeping a record of places I've visited, places I want to visit and day to day musings and idea's is going to be a great start to my year. And look at all the pretty stationary I have to help me?! Heaven right?

Organisation - This is something I started to touch upon last year and began the year very well with my diary filled to the brim... and then I started slacking. I tend to use my phone calendar a lot when it comes to writing in work or when I'm seeing Jon but I want to have a much more detailed events planner. I've treated myself to a beautiful new 2016 diary (from T K Maxx if anyone loves it as much as I do) and I'm very determined to make sure I stick to organizing myself. I've already got some of the months plans filled out already. Planning and inspiration for blog posts are going to be very exciting and I can't wait to write them all down.

Time to reflect, chill out time - Something I am starting to recognize as being very important is taking time out. I'm going to make sure I start to take time away from laptop's and phones and just sit and do something productive or spend time with family. Life is too short to be staring at a screen for the majority of your life and life is for living!
One way to enjoy some chill out time, I got my hands on the amazing colouring books and I can't wait to sit down and relax.. although I have to say, this colouring book is so beautiful it's almost too nice to colour in! I'd definitely recommend getting your hands on one of these, because even just flicking through the pages makes me feel happier.

Books & Music - Taking the time out to read a good book is something I always want to do but tend to push to the back of the pile when it comes to actually sitting down to read my book. I ALWAYS feel so much happier when I'm reading a good book so it's something I'm going to strive to do a lot more of. I've recently received the life changing magic of tidying book and I am SO excited to start reading it, I am expecting great things from it!

Treat Sessions -  It's always important to treat yourself every once in a while and if you're a shopping fanatic like me treating yourself comes all too easy. However, I'm going to start treating myself to a few high end luxury pieces! The list of products is never ending, with all the fabulous bloggers out there who post reviews on beauty products - everything sounds so amazing. I started the year with a few Charlotte Tilbury pieces and I am in love with them already, so instead of splashing out on things that perhaps aren't going to last me I'm going to plan out my products and invest in a few luxury timeless pieces to keep. If you have any recommendations please leave them down below!

Travel, Adventures & Picnic's -  2016 is a whole new year, a whole new adventure and I can't wait to see what I get up to. Something I'm going to definitely do more off is going to try and travel more. I want a year filled to the brim with adventures, spontaneous picnic's and trips. It's going to be very exciting and I can't wait to share my journey with you, keep your eyes peeled for the latest on HV!

Do you have any New Year's resolutions or plans? Let me know in the comments below I love hearing from you. Have a fabulous January!
Love, H x
