Who wouldn't LOVE leaving the normal bores of life at the door and transform into the fabulous Carrie Bradshaw for the day?! Because I know I certainly didn't turn down the opportunity when the lovely ladies at Ushi's invited me to come and see their gorgeous Pop Up shop in the St Davids 2 shopping centre in Cardiff. I was already so familiar with the brand, being an avid visitor of the Cowbridge store so I knew I was in for such a treat!

Ushi's specialises in bringing that something different to the high street, supplying designer pieces that will make you feel a million pounds. There is something for everyone catering for all price brackets - as you know from reading my little online space, I feel strongly about not having to break the bank in order to feel and look amazing. This is something I feel Ushi's achieves making there place on the high street a roaring success. It's important to have a nosey around everything before instantly jumping to the conclusion it's a little pricey, as I know they mix pricey with very affordable and you can often be put off when the first item you look at is a few hundred pounds - that's what I found when looking around the store.

'I like my money right where I can see it...
Hanging in my closet'
- Carrie Bradshaw.

The whole shopping experience was amazing, and I was made to feel instantly at home. This is something you only really have with an independent store like Ushi's. Bigger stores such as Zara, Next and New Look are all so big and branded that the level of customer service would be impossible to achieve as it's just always busier - supporting independent businesses often means the staff will go above and beyond to make sure you've found everything you were looking for and a lot of the time can offer their own personal shopper services, all free of charge!

I was amazed at how beautiful the shop was, being a pop up shop after all, you don't always expect to be blown away, but I can honestly say I was. When speaking with the Owner of the store I was able to get a better insight into how the shop is run, often carrying a very exclusive range of products - giving Ushi's that extra edge. That was another lovely added touch, being able to speak to the person who puts together the business, goes on the buying trips and creates the Ushi's trend. That's something you would never be able to do in a huge chain company, making independent small businesses a lot more personal. Hearing her stories and experiences really bought the shop to life for me, and I'm sure this would be the same for every customer too! They will normally only carry a few pieces of each item and once they've sold out they don't repeat the line, meaning you are literally one in four who will have one! This is something I LOVE. Who wants to look like everyone else?! Mainly carrying pieces from Italy, Paris & British manufacturers there is a style to fit all.

Dressing up like a princess is definitely something that makes me so happy, and I was SO excited to pick out a few pieces with the girls and have a little fashion show in the changing rooms. The selection of clothes were all right up my street, especially the beautiful ballet skirts and biker jackets. I actually came away with a beautiful stone biker jacket from Paris, which I'm in no doubt will be making its appearance on the blog and instagram soon. The designer collection Elisa Cavelletti really caught my eye when wondering around the shop, and I was so amazed to know the history behind the brand. It's a complete Italian sourced, designed and made product and it's ordered for stock over a year in advance! The collection is exclusive and you really are wearing something very special that won't be repeated due to the length of time it takes to pre-order - how amazing!

Alongside an incredible range of clothing, Ushi's also has a gorgeous range of jewellery, homeware, handbags & shoes - I know right, can it get any better?! I did tell you they had pretty much everything covered.. So without further ado, if you're planning a trip or live around Cardiff be sure to go in and check out Ushi's fabulous pop up shop in St Davids 2 shopping arcade! They're open 7 days a week till the end of August 2017 (with hope of staying open a little longer if all goes well, so fingers crossed they will still be here till the end of the year!) so there's still plenty of time to go and have a cheeky shopping spree, a little birdy told me they've just had a delivery from Italy in too.. eek!
I'd like to give a HUGE thank you to all the girls at Ushi's for making me feel a million pounds in my twirly princess outfits, and for all the help & laughs you gave me on my visit. I can't wait to come back and visit soon!
Until next time,
H x
