Travel Diary: Cheltenham spa

24 July 2015

Spa trip anyone? It's a definite yes from me.
Last week, a friend and I booked a spa night away in Cheltenham. I'd never been to Cheltenham before, and I'd never been on a spa night either - so it was safe to say I was extremely excited. We booked in for a night and spa treatments at the Cheltenham Park Hotel. When you book in for treatment, you have full use of the spa facilities - pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. This was great, as our treatments were one after the other, so we had somewhere to go and relax while we waited. Our treatments included a back, shoulder and neck massage and a facial including scalp and face massage.

It was heaven. It was all so relaxing I nearly fell asleep a few times! The massage was amazing, and I am definitely going to be booking myself one again. I know a lot of people have regular massages, and I now understand why. It really helped my shoulders and neck relax as all my knots were worked out.

Our trip also included to stay the night in the hotel with a 3 course meal and breakfast - what more could you want?! After a day lounging around in the pool area, we made our way back up to our room to get ready for dinner. The only disappointment I'd say was the 'spa' area wasn't as glamorous as the online photographs I'd seen beforehand, it was a lot smaller and it wasn't the cleanest - but it was still lovely to relax. We were sooo hungry that we ordered room service before hand, which was delicious!!!
Dinner was in the hotel restaurant, we were shown to our table and a bottle of prosecco was ordered to start the evening off. The food was beautiful.

Starter: Freshly made tomato and basil soup, with garlic croutons and fresh bread.
Main: Gnocchi with chestnut mushrooms and cashew nuts in a Parmesan sauce.
Dessert: Chocolate brownie, with vanilla ice cream.

It was a really relaxing night away, and I found reading by the pool was just what the doctor ordered. The next day consisted of breakfast and lounging around the hotel gardens reading and enjoying the sunshine - perfect.

Love, H
